SCRA President
The Chapter President serves as the principal point of contact between the chapter and its members, the National Manager, and the public at large. He/she should demonstrate sound leadership and organizational skills.
Responsibilities: including, but not limited to:
-Preside at all meetings of the membership and/or the Chapter Board.
-Hold regular meetings, open and close the meetings
-Maintain a firm schedule throughout meetings. Remember, the members and guests are attending the meeting to gain information and/or to hear the guest speaker.
-Check on arrangements and other details of meetings well in advance to avoid problems.
-Recognize new individual members, corporate sponsors, and guests at each meeting.
-Ensure that an accurate written account of the meeting highlights, along with photographs (properly identifying individuals), promptly forward these to the National Manager if the intention is to be included for publication in the chapter news section of the newsletter and/or website.
-Delegate committee responsibilities and select committee representatives, being careful to draw on new personnel as a source of new ideas and as training for new officers.
-Match committee responsibilities with available personnel. Avoid one-person committees.
-Ask for periodic and comprehensive committee activities reports
-Ensure the Chapter Annual Report information is provided to SCRA National annually
-Provide supporting assistance in pursuing overall SCRA objectives.
